About us

Camilo Pérez Arrau founded AustralGIS to give municipalities and small teams the same geospatial capacity that only large agencies could once afford. Over 25+ years he has led GIS, remote sensing, and urban forestry projects across Canada, Latin America, and beyond — bridging field data collection, spatial analysis, and the software that puts it in front of decision-makers. He works directly with public-works, planning, and parks departments to turn scattered geographic data into maps and inventories that hold up in a council meeting and in the field.
A licensed Engineering Geologist trained at UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal), Camilo has served as GIS Data Architect at Environment and Climate Change Canada and GIS Advisor at Consortech. He works fluently across proprietary and open-source stacks — ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, QField, PostGIS, and GeoServer — and applies remote sensing, satellite imagery analysis, and geospatial AI (GeoAI) to urban forestry, urban heat island studies, and municipal asset management.

Good work is better together.
From the first conversation to the final deliverable, we communicate openly, solve problems side by side, and celebrate the work along the way. Our clients work with people who care about the experience as much as the outcome.
